Day 6

Favorite super hero and why.

This is hard, I don't really think about this much.  I guess if I had to pick, I'd say Iron Man because he's just a normal person who comes up with this awesome suit.  I think I like the fact that he doesn't have any specific super abilities other than his intelligence in coming up with the suit.

Day 5

A picture of somewhere you’ve been to.

This is a picture of the Fraser Valley from up on Sumas Mountain.

It's beautiful there, and I miss it a lot.

Day 4

A habit that you wish you didn’t have.

Um... I guess I have a habit of near constantly checking Facebook, Twitter and the Buzz.  Like, every 5 minutes at least I cycle through those three websites, even on my phone when I'm trying to fall asleep.  It's pretty bad.

Day 3

A picture of you and your friends.

Well this is a really old pic, but it's of my friends and I waiting for Harry Potter 7.1 to open :)

Yes, we are playing video games on our Nintendo DS's (MarioKart I think?)

Day 2

The meaning behind your blog name

Well this is an easy one.  My name is Christine and when we were younger, my sisters called me Tistine, hence my screen name.  The title of this blog is "Random" just cuz it's a whole bunch of random thoughts and stuff, nothing specific.

Day 1

A recent picture of you and 15 interesting facts about yourself.

Well apparently I don't really take pictures of myself very often anymore.  This pic is from Christmas with my family :)

1. I'm in a long distance relationship.  I'm in Edmonton, AB.  He's in Pittsburgh, PA.  We started dating before officially meeting for the first time.  He's amazing and I'm a very lucky woman.
2. Up until January, I was in school to become a high school teacher.  I was really burnt out and depressed and stressed out, so I quit (for now?).
3. I don't know anymore if I actually want to go back to school
4. I work for a temp agency
5. I have a cat named Raine.  I've had her for 11 years.  I love her a lot.
6. I have a dog named Bailey who currently lives with my parents in Abbotsford, BC.  I miss her.
7. I'm pretty bad at saving money and now that I'm actually making money, I end up spending most of it on myself because I've been without money for so many years.  Eventually I'll get all caught up on the stuff I've been depriving myself of for a long time and actually start saving.
8. I hate Edmonton winters.
9. Both my younger sisters moved to Edmonton because of me
10. I hope to be able to permanently move back to Abbotsford some day
11. I got a Kindle from Boyfriend for Christmas and I use it basically every day during my lunch break
12. Sometimes I find random not-well-known bands and end up loving them.  A recent example is Twin Atlantic, who I found by accident while watching AWOLNATION music videos.  Twin Atlantic was one of the "related videos" so I clicked and ended up loving Sam McTrusty's Scottish accent which comes through in his singing
13. Boyfriend and I met years ago on a Newsboys messageboard but just started dating last March
14. I own a Mazda Protege whose name is Jared
15. My favourite season is Autumn.

Home!

Well, I've been at home for almost 2 weeks now. I've pretty much just been lazing around the house, it's been pretty great considering how stressed out I've been for the past... oh few months at least. Not that I'm not still a bit stressed out, but it's been great to just kind of hang out and not worry about too much stuff.

On the more busy side, I did get myself a great summer job which starts tomorrow morning. I'm pretty excited. I'll be working as a receptionist for a transport company which is a lot better than at some fast food place or being a cashier somewhere. Its pretty amazing, cuz it's full time and they only need me til the end of August which is perfect cuz that's when I go back to Edmonton. It wasn't even really much of an interview, when I got there they just explained the job, pay and hours to me and asked if I could start Monday, haha.

I am ready to get out of the house, but the lack of car thing is going to be an issue. Since I totaled my car in March, I don't have a car to use for work which is an issue when we don't really have an extra car lying around for me to use all day. I talked to my sister about trying to share a vehicle but she doesn't seem too keen on that, so I'm not sure what I'm gonna do. This week I have my friend Carla's car so it'll be fine til next week, but I have no idea what I'm gonna do after that. I don't really have the funds to buy a car right now, and I have a bunch of stuff I have to pay for coming up real quick which will take my first few paychecks away from me, so yeah.

Oh well, God provided the perfect job, so He'll provide the car to get there as well :)

It's been really great to be back at church as well. I miss my church so much while I'm in Edmonton. And my job is only Mon-Fri which means it won't interfere with church, which was another concern while I was job hunting. I've only been back for two weeks and I've already gotten so much out of church. Last week was about not worrying, which was a perfect lesson for me to hear, haha. This week was about volunteers, since we were celebrating all our volunteers that help out at the church. I wish I had more opportunities to volunteer at church, but it's kind of hard when I live 1200km's away. I did volunteer to help out in the library over the summer so hopefully I'll get a chance to do that soon. I also volunteered to read books for the library since our librarian doesn't have a lot of time to pre-read them before putting them in the library and they won't add them unless they're pre-read so hopefully I'll have a bunch more new books to read soon :)

Other than that, I don't think too much else has happened lately.
